! VOIP - Internet Telephony can save you money.

VOIP or Voice over Internet Protocols is the hottest thing around as far as business phone users are concerned. It can be used to cut out line rentals for small businesses, dramatically cut call costs for larger businesses and even to make intra company calling effectively free, great if you have two or more office sites that regularly call each other or have remote teleworkers that call in regularly from a fixed line.

Call us on 0845 890 0913 for more infomation

and try out calling a VOIP system while you do so!

How does it work?

Your broadband line has been designed to carry vast amounts of data raidly and efficiently. Voice calls can use that massive bandwidth to carry telephone calls over the internet via your broadband connection. Voice when compressed down using modern digital methods takes up only a tiny fraction of your available bandwidth. With broadband speeds of todays 8Meg broadband connections, many many calls can be handled at once. Your broadband line can handle streaming video, streaming audio is a cynch compared to that.

Is it like SKYPE?

Yes and no. Skype is an Internet telephony system, but it is closed and therefore not as flexible as a full blown VOIP service would be.

Could my business outgrow it?

Not really, we can bond together multiple broadband lines each capable of carrying dozens of simulataneous calls. Ultimately you could have your own Internet leased line but by then you would certainly have outgrown our ability to support you, though the VOIP service providers would still be in place so you would keep any numbers you have been using previously.

What does it cost?

Much less than you might think and cerftainly less than the small PBX type exchanges small businesses have traditionally used. If you are using it in a home or small office environment then its really very inexpensive to set up. See the panels on the right for some solutions and price examples or call us for an estimate based on your requirements. - 0845 890 0913.

Can I integrate it with my existing phone system?

Yes, if necessary it can be fully integrated with your existing phone lines, dialling rules created in the system then pick the cheapest dialing option and if its unavailable fall back to your existing fixed lines. Incoming calls can still be received then on your existing numbers.

Solution 1

One or two people in a home office.

Using a Router with built in VOIP or VOIP telephony handsets a two line phone system can be set up. Using a VOIP provider that only charges for calls, you can save on the line rental that BT would charge for you to have a business line and yet still seperate your work from homelife as business calls will only go to business phones. If you are regularly out of the office, you can have calls diverted to your mobile, giving your business that professional fixed line look and feel whilst still being able to be out of the office without important calls going to Answerphone.

Typical set up costs £290 including 2 phones, installation and Router, lower if you use headset phones that plug into your PC rather than a more traditional handset phone.

Solution 2

Home office/Small office with remote teleworkers.

For business with just a few teleworkers then its simple enough to set up a VOIP account for each teleworker and then benefit from free VOIP to VOIP phonecalls. Typical set up costs for a two person office with 3 remote teleworkers - £600.

For larger numbers of teleworkers we would use the low cost yet extremely powerful Linux based, Asterisk/FreePBX system. You can have all your teleworkers call into your office via their broadband line. You can call them as if they were just another extension in your office.

Solution 3

Small Call Centre or medium sized office.

Again we would use the Linux based asterisk system to set up a PBX. A single 8 Meg broadband line can certainly service up to 20 "lines", we can bond together multiple broadband links for larger applications. The Asterisk/FreePBX system is a full function PBX, handling call queing, call recording, call transfer, Automated Call routing (press 1 for sales, 2 for despatch, 3 for accounts etc).

Systems from £2000 - Call for a quote for your size of installation.
